Chris' goat a scootir!

(I restarted this topic over here to make more room...) I have gone and purchased myself a Vespa 150 Sprint and I feel over the moon. All I have to do now is pay for it, pick it up from Fife, pass my CBT, and tell my good wife, who will most likely keel over. Next year I will be aiming to be amongst the scooters on the run out, so I will have to stay sober. Chris C

  • Never got full driving license Chris. I'll need to get that 1st.

If you have a car license it should have a provissional included Norrie, then you would just have to sit your CBT in order to drive up to a 125 with L plates on. I am just realising how expensive this scooter lark really is. There is the cost of the scoot, which is bad enough. Then there is the CBT at £120, insurance another £120, crash helmet £50, and I will have to buy a spare tyre and either replace the steering lock or buy something else to secure it. I hope you guys will all be in a generous mood the next night we go out.

Chris, I just realised I don't have a license to legally drive a scooter. Do you need to get those lessons nowadays? I remember a girl in work did this a wee while ago. I must be getting old forgetting the essentials.
  • You better not Mik. If you go to sleep in Mr Dollars house he will set fire to your teeth. And there is nothing worse than teeth on fire ha ha.

  • Aye chris, get the mirrors on it, there just aren't enough real mod scooters anymore. I'm always blown away when I see a scooter all done up like the old days, you just can't beat it.

So far I have driven it down the guys street who I bought it from. He must have thought I was nuts driving down the street without a crash helmet on, but you have to try it our surely. Apart from that I have driven it up and down the garage on to the drive way wow ! I am going to sit my CBT shortly so hopefully I should be on the road soon enough. I may well pop up to that scooter shop in Lenzie to see if they have a spare wheel for a Vespa Sprint in stock.

Just sit on it and make the noises mate ha ha ,looks the bizz Chris ,the real pleasure will be adding your own touches to it and making it your own.
  • Cheers Mr Dollar. The two colours I was thinking about were old English white, or powder blue, and I think at the moment powder blue is the favourite.

I will, in all likelihood go for the full license, but the one that is restricted to a 125. That suits me perfectly as the Vespa is a 125, and I am not going to get anything else. You are more than welcome to a wee shot when you come up. We'll just have to make sure we do not go near any Madness concerts and noise up the skinheads this time.
