A Melbourne scooterist mate of mine (Alan) has just informed Michael and I that Dave Ball - of Procul Harem who replaced Robin Trower in 1971 - has just died, two days after he had his 65th birthday. :-( Both Dave and Alan were housemates here in Victoria and I had the pleasure of meeting Dave only once a few months ago and we were talking about his glory days as a muso and where he and his brother would often as minors would sneak into clubs during the 1960s, remembering fondly that Keith Moon rocked up inside a club riding a scooter! ;-)

He was also in a band called Bedlam with his brother Dennis, Frank Aiello and Cozy Powell (later to be in Black Sabbath and other bands), and was on Long John Baldry's 1973 album, Good to be Alive.

RIP Dave
