What Gig's Have You Been To?

Couldn't see a thread dedicated to live music.

I went to see The Specials last night at Rock City,Nottingham.  Good gig small venue (about 2500).  Decent atmosphere.  Was almost a very short concert with Mr Hall threatening to walk off after bottles were thrown.  It seems some people just can't help acting like idiots.  Some well dressed folks about too.  I'm always blown away when I see a women skinheads, a male skinhead so what?  But a woman skinhead that takes guts.

  • A groovy evening yesterday with the Master of the keys, Mr Brian Auger himself!

    • A good night then I trust Kai ?

    • Yes indeed Andy; Top musicians in relaxed athmosphere...
    • Very good Kai. I think my next gig will be the Small Fakers at the start of November.
    • That would be the double feature with Who's Who, Chris!?
    • Yeah the same one mate. I like Who's Who until they start to get into the early 70s Who stuff and then i sort of turn off from it.
    • Haha I can understand that too well, Chris! ;-)
    • Yeah, the last time I saw them they finished off with 'Summertime Blues, ' 'Who are You' and 'Pinball Wizzard' not quite my thing.
    • I like the Who's first three albums; Sell Out being my favourite; everything after leaves me cold, really. We all grew up with Quadrophenia but apart from the nostalgia, it's simply just average 70's Rock...
    • Same here. For a long time I never paid any attention to the majority of the original Quadrophenia music. If it was not for it being very evocative the chances are high that I still would not have given it a hearing.
