What Gig's Have You Been To?

Couldn't see a thread dedicated to live music.

I went to see The Specials last night at Rock City,Nottingham.  Good gig small venue (about 2500).  Decent atmosphere.  Was almost a very short concert with Mr Hall threatening to walk off after bottles were thrown.  It seems some people just can't help acting like idiots.  Some well dressed folks about too.  I'm always blown away when I see a women skinheads, a male skinhead so what?  But a woman skinhead that takes guts.

    • What!!! They're back together??? Oh happy day! :-)

    • This show was supposed to happen a week ago but was postponed for health reasons. Thankfully it was rescheduled for tonight.

Absolutely brilliant night Kai, you would have loved it.

    • Hope they'll be over here again some time soon. Didn't realize they'd been touring for months again obviously...

    • Faintly bonkers band. Not even sure they can sing! Avant garde craziness. Whats not to like?

    • Sorry meant to ad Motown that my mod ultra mate has these as his top band. Bar none. Remember theres a vid of them on a show with Terry Christian live with the kids in the audience going bonkers - amazing,!

  • Last Saturday in town (Ballarat), a double header of 1960s pop tunes and the local Soul band, Motor City Sounds got me dancing and drinking all night!

Tonight (Saturday), en route to a 59 Club (Victoria) double anniversary... 60 years (UK)/15 years (Victoria, Australia)!

They maybe dirty Rockers, but the spirit of [Aussie] mateship between myself and them (10 years strong) means more to us than subcultural divides in the days of yore... and for $5 AUD (including the band), I'm not complaining. Haven't seen them since Xmas! Fun times ahead! :-D

    • Motor City Sounds does sound promising, indeed!

  • The magnificent Tesky Brothers.

  • The kids are alright!  Little Triggers free gig in Brighton and these local boys The Cretins (Worthing) were the support. For my money they blew the main (self indulgent) act off stage - catch ‘em if you can.
