What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

I know this dress isn't Mod, but my second favourite style of womens clothing is the 1940s, so I invested in another Stop Staring dress.. the "Leonora".

  • Four knitted ties  I purchased in the last few days.

    • Nice Andy. Brown with blue polka dots is an unusual one. All silk?
    • Two are Mark.  The one on the other side is actually dark blue with polka dots though it looks black,. Anyway they should assist achieving  a  formal look though that might be ruined with the top button undone ! Lol !

    • Where do you get yours mate? I've been looking at the Mickelson site recently. More colours than you can shake a stick at, and some great knitted examples on there...
    • Two came off Ebay Mark. From spmeone who trades as Tie spy and they were very inexpensive. The other two were a gift.

  • Talking of shirts, I just got this one shipped from the UK to go with the Ben Sherman tie (apologies to David Dawkins) I got from my son.  After reading the last few posts, I'm almost scared to open it ~lol!

    • Looks good !

  • This green Button Down from Charles Tyrwhitt

    • For me Edward it looks like another high st BD to be honest. I am not sure what the cloth quality is like or the cost of the shirt but imho it seems to lack the detail we should be looking for. Collar looks too weedy, is there a stitched in back pleat, collar loop, rear darts for a good fit? For £50/60 you can get a decent shirt from AoL or JTG that will have all these details that will take a shirt and make it so much better than the mass produced high st (not saying CT shirts mass produced but you should get my meaning). I am not trying to be critical, I don't know your budget or how much a CT shirt is, but for me its detail. Not sure this has it...
