What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

  • Not really bought, but back from the tailors for a few alteration today. Mohair Tiger of Sweden-suit.

Bought it a few weeks ago. Yes, there's been a few ToS-things bought lately. They have an outlet pretty close to my hometown so I can get them for a reasonable price. They are really great quality and I like their basic fit, so with some alterations many of their garments can be really sharp.

    • Yes, like Derek said, beautiful colour. Gave 2 buttons a try, though, doesn't work for me. But certainly will for you, R!

    • Thanks guys!

Yes, the colour and the fit is what drew me too it. Saw it hanging between a bunch of dark grey suits and just knew right away that I had to get it.

I used to only wear three- or four buttons for a long time, but have started realise that it really has more to do with the rise and drape of the lapels than the number of buttons. I actually have one 2-button suit that has a higher rise than some 3-button blazers.

That being said I originally intended to see if I could have the tailor add a third one (usually not recommended I know, but on some blazers it has worked for me). However I decided to leave it as is, at least for know. I like how the lapels look with the two buttons, plus the mohair and three buttons might make it a bit too mid-cliche, if you know what I mean.
    • Tiger Of Sweden do have a shop in Düsseldorf, which is quite close to me. Will have a look when there next time.

    • You definitely should Kai! They're not by any means a "mod brand" but some of their stuff is very nice, and the detailing and quality is top notch,at least on their higher rang stuff.
You just have to pick out the goodies, so to speak. ;)

They're not exactly cheap though, that's why I only buy stuff from them at mentioned outlet.
    • Yes, I'm aware of that, Ronnie; just checked their website; that's where I came about the Düsseldorf adress.

    • thats a really nice colour Ronnie

  • Received today from Art Gallery, blue  cardi  £25 less 10% discount ! Excellent !!
