What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • Thanks Kai! Karen Millen is rather expensive, but the investment is well worth it, especially when one can layaway! ;-)
    • Very nice!

    • Cheers HS!
  • This excellent jumper arrived today from Art Gallery, i'm really delighted with it ! Plus the 20% discount !!

    • Nice Andy, I've had my eye on that one in that colour. I'm a big fan of AGC, and probably have 20 or so of their items including polos, tees, cardis and jumpers. Alex is a pleasure to deal with. Been disappointed with their shirts though.
    • Really pleased with it Mark, I've bought several items from AGC and as you say Alex, is a top guy to deal  with !!

    • Got one Art Gallery short sleeve shirt for Summer, which seems ok; and lots of excellent knit wear, too!
      Looks nice, Andy!
    • Cheers Kai !

  • NB ** RESERVED For Mod Goddess **The Hullabaloo Discotheque Dance Book

    1. Ebay purchase - August 1967 Australian Home Journal with title page and article about Mary Quant and her husband, Alexander Plunkett-Greene. You may remember one of the photos in my Photo Album would have been taken the same day - I wish it cost me 25 cents!! ;-)
    2. 1960s, virgin wool, black, knee-length Mod dress with fold-over collar - one for the winter, I think...
    3. Etsy purchase: Rare 1960s NBC's Hullabaloo Discotheque Dance Book, published in 1966. Would be great alongside my 2 pai9rs of HiBrows gogo boots that I bought that would have been worn on the same show. Just check out this etsy listing. Pity these are too small... https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/93729065/rare-nbc-tv-hullabaloo-go-...
  • First two weeks into Autumn, thought I'd treat myself to some knitwear courtesy of Alannah Hill and [my new method of payment] Afterpay...

From last year, and for a very reduced price, a "By the Warm Fire" striped top

2 "Modern Muse" tops - both in black and in pink. I am hoping the pink one is a rosy coloured hue, rather than baby pink. It'll go nicely with my 1960s baby pink, Mod vintage Norma Tullo suit. ;-)
