What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • Nice for summer Andy, with white jeans IMO ;-)

    • I'll pass on the white jeans Al, and a bit too  warm for the Henley knit in this weather !

    • Ahh right, I was under the impression they were a light cotton Andy, not a fan of white Levi`s then?

    • The t-shirts are cotton Al, But i'll stick with regular blue Levi's ! No i'm not a fan of white jeans or white roll necks no offence to any who are !

  • On sale already, plus 20% off coupon added to the total for being a Myer One Member... both on Afterpay. Myer is a department store here in Australia.

  • A set of four prints, each drawn by a different artist...

Babs Tarr, Anne Benjamin,Alex Pearson, Daniel Krall - respectively.

These prints came out about 4 years ago and now that they were on sale as a foursome, I couldn't pass them up. I may even buy another set to use as prizes for this year's Mods vs Rockers in Melbourne...

  • Got myself a pair of Farah frogmouth, flat fronted, casual slacks this afternoon. In real time too! I walked into a local shop, had a nose about, spied a pair hanging up, thought to myself, "I shall have them smart looking strides." Walked up to the till, handed the young lady some dosh, she popped 'em in a bag then handed it to me. I said, "Thank you very much", stuck my chest out and London walked up the high street with a nice little grin on me all the way home ;0)

    • Yep! You sure can. It takes a bit more effort and the human connection is much more satisfying in my humble opinion. I shall be very sad to see the end of the personal touch but I suppose that's what we call progress...

    • It's funny you putting up the post with the Farah's plus Alan's comments. I had always thought they looked pretty good trousers, the only thing that put me off buying a pair was their association with casuals.
    • Farah's were mod/acid jazz well before the casuals and before that the reggae boys in the early to mid 70's. Worn with leather horsebit moccasins or clarks wallabees, aka earthman boots.

As ever imho, it's what an individual wears, does, or hears that's sharp as opposed to what's mod or not ;0)
