What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • Cheers Andy!
  • Here's my shaving kit as promised Gary :-)

    • For a minute there, I thought we were on the "Grooming" thread on MC, Harry! ;-)

    • TRUMPER....giggle.

    • Truefitt & Hill and Trumpers are the oldest quality barbers in London.
    • That's a kit and a half Harry, thanks. Quite a few chaps recommend the Feather razor along with your good self. What's the blade availability like and how many shaves do you get on average per blade? The Dovo straight razor and strop has my eye at the mo, as I'm trying to minimise or avoid completely replacement parts. But the Feather razor looks a good contender. Topman ;0)

    • Thanks Gary, I'd say 10 shaves per blade at maximum efficiency, then you start to lose some edge. Having said that theyre good for say 5 more. The only caveat would be the courseness of individual bristles. The blades are available online, I use ebay. I've thought about a classic straight razor and strop, I might actually give it a try.
    • Cheers, very useful info Harry. My bristles are a proper 'Desperate Dan' stylee. 2/3 good shaves with a Gillette, 5 if it's every day.

You are well ahead when it comes to the cut throat experience... Have at it my good man ;0). The German Dovo razor is the leading contender for me at the moment.

100 shaves with a cut throat before I can call myself a professional or so they say. I just hope I don't lose too much blood in the meantime... Anything over a thimble full and I'll start to panic! Ha, ha

  • Has anyone bought Sta Press from Warrior Clothing? Just ordered the Light Blue pair, hoping they are better quality than Relco! Have only bought a shirt from Warrior before.

    • Don't think you'll have any issue with them Steve -better than Relco -every bit as good -if not better than JTG
