What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    1. Yes, another 1960s Mod, vintage handbag. I love the design, colours and I'm certain it was designed and made by the same people who made both of my 1960s Mod RWB double cross and RWB chevron bags...
    2. Karen Millen "Sporty Stripe" RWB cardigan that just came out here in Oz, but was released earlier this year in the UK. It looks like a monkey jacket at the top when you see it...
    3. Inspired by Edith Head's design for one Audrey's dresses in Sabrina, I bought the aptly named "Hepburn" dress from Kitten D'Amour's "Follies" range here in Australia. Kitten D'Amour do limited numbers of their items. Once they're gone, they're gone. The only disappointment was unlike Audrey's, mine does not have a deep V at the back. However, the aesthetic is still there as I intend to wear it - as the sketch indicates, complete with petticoat, white wrist gloves, black clutch and shoes to match - to a Edith Head exhibition in Bendigo on what would have been Ms Head's 116th birthday this year.

I know we have a Vespa and we could do the Roman Holiday thing, but there's a seller on etsy that recreates that look too -     - but I'd have to think about that as the colour and model of the scooter wouldn't look great with the RH outfit... :-(
