What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • Can't recall if From the Jam played Melbourne or Brisbane late 2016 or early 2017 ?

      Or SLF ?
    • Melbourne. Not sure if they played Brisbane.

I was there in March 2015 (which turned out to be the night before my late grandfather passed) and thought Foxton was better than Weller... Yes, I just said that. I'm not into the Mod Revival music much even if I'm seen them both and The Chords. :-)
  • Picture this, if you will...

Yesterday, I'm en route back to Ballarat - from the cash in hand job that I'd been doing for the last 9 or so days while the boss was away) - I'm carrying a Ben Sherman Messenger bag (crammed with odds and sods), matching holdall (or in my case, as a Mod, not so holdall) - both crammed full of clothes and a Vespa themed trolley case (also full). I enter the local Karen Millen store with all of this in tow, to try on a dress they had waiting for me since Thursday that had to be delivered from Chadstone Shopping Centre - Melbourne's equivalent of Harrod's, I suppose.

As luck would have it, this Karen Millen dress that I wanted since earlier this year (UK fashion time) was still there (in my size), so I decided to try that on as well. In the end, I bought the one I had my eye on (which was heavily reduced from $375 to $149). So, pleased with it, I had to take that home with me alongside my luggage. Just as well I had some stylish flats on, it wasn't raining and that I had a good friend pick me up from Ballarat station to take me home while Michael was away in Brisbane. The white isn't as bright as this, however.

While I was away, I also did some online shopping too and now just waiting for them to arrive...

Clarks and V&A Museum 2016 "Swixties" collaboration "Faye" pointed mary jane shoes with its box. Not bad for a best offer £40.00 plus postage. I don't think this collaboration ever made it to Australia.

    • Cracking gear as usual Bec ;-)

  • These two absolute beauties arrived yesterday from Claudio, at Dna Groove. Over the moon with em both !!!!!!!

    • Yes, lovely shirts those Andy ;-)

    • Cheers  Al, Claudio pulled out all the stops to ensure especially the white one arrived in time for me to wear when  our grandson had his christening.

    • I haven't got any DNA clothes -have seen images like these and others -and have heard others speaking highly of the detail and quality -how keen is the fit Andy ? I don't mind a slim cut (within reason ) -like AOL not very slim cut
    • Scott, I usually go for the xxl although i'm considered slim  Not sure if that helps much ? I weigh in at eleven stone. Absolutely agree with  all of Alan's comments !

    • Jesus Andy --laying off the rum I can get to 13-8 ---I'll be ordering SM --sail maker!!!
