What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • Yes I was quite happy with the Capirari Scott, again fitted as opposed to slim, but I put that down to me having to order a 16 1/2 collar, as I am a slim guy with a bull dog neck......Ha-ha.

    • Going off at a tangent -have you had any dealings with modshopping -if so -service /sizing /quality ?
    • I haven`t Scott, but I think Kai has. I tend to stick with the clothiers who I haven`t had any problems with, as I know what the fit and quality is like. Unless I was buying bespoke, I use Adam of London, as they are a better fit for an older guy like myself, a similar fit to some of DNA`s suits to be honest.

    • Yes, indeed Scott; I got a Paisley Shirt by MS, which is really nice; a Sta Prest that is about the same fit as  other, but 100% Cotton, and I once had a jacket made which didn't fit too well despite individual measurements and also lacked individual details so essential to mod. So for me: Shirts and trousers possibly again, jackets or suits- no.

    • I remember you saying that now -couldn't remember if it was modclothin or MS
    • Agreed Alan -AOL fan myself -prefer the length -fancied a blazer -struggle with shoulders on most makes - having a think about MS
    • I must say I think the  AOL are a cut above all  the others. Just my view of course ?

    • Ha ha !  Al, Nearly five years ago I lost considerable weight for no apparent reason. Finished up having all sorts of tests at the hosp but happily no probs were discovered. Eventually regained some of the weight but not all had to replace a load of clothes. The upside  however was I packed up cigarettes as such and went on electric ciggies. One of the best things I've done  !

    • AoL are the best fitting whistle`s I`ve had Andy, though it depends on my physique at the time, as my weight Yo-yo`s, I can lose nearly two stone for no apparent reason, then put it back on quite quickly.

    • Do AoL offer any blazers other than boating blazers? Not in the web shop they dont...
