What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • Cheers Kai, they look extremely smart.
    • Very nice those Kai, didn`t know you had ordered two pairs.

    • Actually I didn't, Alan. Must have to do with the light...!?
    • They look like two different colours in their respective photo`s Kai

  • Thinking of getting myself up to Smithers Jones in Paisley to have a look at their Art Gallery tops .Unfortunately i wont - because they have called it a day - beaten all ends up by the power of the click .

Feel a bit guilty myself - spent more than a few quid in there -including on  a Relco shirt i hate ! -----but could have done more - i encourage everybody to give their local shop a turn ,

Dees in Glasgow will be getting more of my pocket money from now on

    • Thought the same recently, Scott... unfortunately supporting your local shops means spending more cash... been to Fred Perry and Ben Sherman in Cologne yesterday and next Monday will order a semi bespoke blazer in Düsseldorfs Modlord Shop, which will be made in Germany. Took home a nice Art Gallery paisley shirt from Dee's in June, btw! ;-)
  • 1960s Mary Quant display sign found on eBay UK.

Needs some restoration and the light fitting needs rewiring. I can't wait to see it when it arrives! Truly OOAK and unique for this forum. I think that this will rank the highest among my most treasured vintage pieces! I was the 17th bid, but I only put in ONE bid! ;-)

    • Fantastic buy MG, and an amazing piece of social history into the bargain.
    • If I could only find one from our/your [Scottish] mate John Stephens, I'll be set... ;-)

    • You certainly would MG, but you have done really well to get a hold of the MQ one.
