What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • A busy week for the wallet... you must have a dress for every day of the week by now. They all look fantastic, though! ;-)

    • And then some... when most need alterations. ;-) I still have several boxes of alterations that need doing! ;-)

Fortunately, I've a long-standing relationship with all three of my seamttresses in town as I negotiated discounted rates for bulk orders - I usually drop off 8 dresses at a time - and can pick them up when am ready to do so. If I'm need of something in a hurry, they can accomodate this before most other people, also. This is a great relationship I think because they recognise my style and body shape and it's usually the same job required every time and are always keen to find out what I've bought, regardless whether it needs work or not. I've always told them to work on others' clothes before mine as I'm always buying, too. The red cocktail dress I bought a while back needed a little work because when I sat down after I tried it on, the sides split. :-( We decided to take some of the hem off - it was a little long for my short height - and had to reinforce the already delicate seams on the sides using the cut fabric and you can't tell what's been done to it, not to mention the V-neck bodice had to be taken in slightly... Damn my bubble butt and small bust...

  • A few monochrome staples for the upcoming winter from Karen Millen... They were released in the UK last year, but we're a season behind, so that'swhy I have them this year... :-(

The first dress is on layaway in Melbourne and the cardi and top were purchased via Afterpay late last week with the first installment paid early...

  • Lovely!

    • Love John Simons shirts.  His website is rather poor though so I might just wait and go instore.

    • ... but the fit is just great, Edward.

  • About 12... yes 12 "Birdcage" style umbrellas in various colours, so that I can colour coordinate my outfits accordingly... Maybe I'm just getting too excited for the winter already! ;-) Here's an example of my black one...
