What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • Ha-ha, not at all Andy, it`s just the ones I have, have got the trademark PG paisley on them. Yes a Kaftan shirt mate, I don`t mind a bit of late sixties psych, I might even grow a droopy tache... Ha-ha ;-)

    • Not every PG  tee has  paisley interior Al,  and i never buy fakes honestly !  I can actually see you with a droopy tache listening to Jefferson Aeroplane/ Captain Beefheart not forgetting the dubious ciggie  as you gaze whistfully at your poster of Grace Slick !  Which is where you tell me you don't smoke but that's just attention to detail !!

    •  I don`t mind the paisley anyway Andy, to be honest. My son bought me my last PG T-shirt and I`ve got to admit, the cotton is good quality, really soft and close knit. Also, you`re right, I don`t smoke, never have, which is a miracle considering my Mother and Father both did, in fact he burned down 80 rolies a day, every day, hardly surprising he didn`t reach the age of 60 :-(

    • Hmm ? But you still  listen to Captain Beefheart & Jefferson Airplane, and still gaze wistfully at your poster of Grace ?

    • Everyday Andy, though it`s more the Wicked Whispers and the High Leary`s these days.

    • Lol !!

  • Evening all!

As The Graduate is one of my all-time favourite movies, Benjamin Braddock's wardrobe always has me drooling every time I watch it. I've been after a cord jacket like the one he wears in the film and have sourced a few over the years that are either far too big, far too small, the wrong colour or falling apart so it was a good day last week when for the princely sum of £20 I won this M&S one on EBay.

The Wallabees (I prefer the "Run" version as they aren't so chunky in the sole department) were also a bargain at £20 as they are virtually unworn. A good day all round!

    • Like that jacket !

    • Nice Ian, I have the same jacket in Olive green, also won on e bay, a few months back ;-)

    • Jacket looks good, Ian (shoes as well). Quite content with mine, although with the ticket pocket it's not very Benjamin Braddock... :-)
