What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • All the same still a lovely looking boot SR.

With all this fad for the box fresh look, the brands and manufacturers are getting away with murder when it comes to quality and longevity. I know for a fact that they do not make shoes and garments to the standards of a bygone era. The reason being so that we all by more shit... I blame the likes of John Stephens and Arthur Benjamin Sugarman myself ;0)

    • Totally agree Gary. Shoes are my thing. If you buy shoes made in Northamptonshire by top companies such as Cheaney,  Edward Green and Crockett and Jones. You can't go wrong. With loake and Barker look for the top end ranges. Tim little of Grenson fame are also well worth a look. Do the homework and all will be well.

    • Really like them, Choc Brown... are a Fave of mine haven't got a Pair in that Colour at the moment, still got 2 Pairs tho!!!

  • Bought this 1966 LP from a second hand record store in Glasgow for a mere £4. Most of the tracks such as Road Runner by  Bo Diddley, My Babe by Little Walter, or Smokestack Lightnin by Howlin Wolf will be well known to most people on the site, but there are a few slightly less known but equally brilliant tracks.

    • Snap! A good find and price Chris... I have the above album along with the one below, cool sounds mate ;0)

    • That looks excellent Gary. Well done to you finding both.

    • Bit of a result Chris, @ £4 !

    • Yeah cheers Andy. I have most of the tracks on other albums but at £4 for an original 60s R&B album in fine nick it was a no brainer.

  • Corazzo "Turiste" armoured Trench coat with removable armour ordered from MotoFemmes in Collingwood (Melbourne) in time for Mods vs Rockers on the 17th... purchased via Zipmoney (parent company of Zippay). Just have to work out the rest of the ensemble! ;-)

    • Yeah like that !
