What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • Haha! Next year then; will save me a lot of money!

    • Nice one!! Beautiful colour palette, too!

    • Early for some! Ha, ha...

    • Soon as the gratification rolls in! :-)

  • 137370713?profile=RESIZE_930xA  nice pair of soft leather winter dress gloves.

    • Lookin great SR.

BTW: these guys are always worth a visit (have nice gloves, too -> Kai): Despite the ridicoulous name (and steep prices), they are making great shoes. I use them for classical shoes and the quality always is top. Only watch-out is that currently they do many brown shoes with a 'patina toe' or whatever they call it (toe darker brown than rest of the shoe).

    • I hust had a look at their 'Ballet flats and loafers' section (women). Nothing I would call a loafer to choose from, but there are a few pump shoe choices in the 'classic' section.

      Thanks for sharing, Martin! ;-)

    • Hi, MG thank you for looking at it. This website is certainly not an El Dorado for mod shoes, but they serve men very well with classic shoe models. I wear them in business, often privately. I think they are not so strong on women's shoes. Surely they can't stand up to your favorite retailers (which you visit regularly as your postings reveal) :-)

    • I have few favourite retailers, yes, but there are others. I only have a few problems with some of them:

      1. Not enough cash to spend - need a stable and steady income
      2. They only make certain colours, which makes it rather difficult to match with a dress! Gone are those days... ;-)
      3. They assume women don't like/want/wear classic, male-influenced shoes (Penny loafers, moccasins, tassel loafers etc)... Loake are guilty of that...

I was lucky enough that Florsheim Australia did said shoes for women a few years back, and yes, I bought all 3 pairs!! They - along with my $6AUD charity shop find Bass Weejuns - are all my go to shoes when I go for an interview and/or when I want to suit up for a night out...

    • A very cool, classy and interesting website Martin... Many thanks for posting dude.
