What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

    • Simply Super... and lovely colour! ;-)

Hope it doesn't give you and your bank account too much grief, Stevo. Asian rebuilds tend to do that to their owners! :-(

    • Asian? She was first registered in England on the 1st of August 1974. 7 owners since new, many years of receipts, MoT's and history.

    • My apologies, Stevo. I didn't know. My other half has a 1974 Super also. He bought it off somebody I knew in the classic scooter scene before we ever met and he joined the scooter club I was in at the time. It was two different shades of blue when he got it and now it's apple green... You would have seen that on my profile... ;-) Through a mate of mine - when it two shades of blue - who was a '80s Mod in Adelaide and Melbourne, recognised the paint job and told he knew the owner who was also 'in the scene then' and never forgot it when the guy got the paint job... What a coincidence!!

I'm used to seeing people in the classic scooter scene/people who are not in Clubs, also here in Australia buy something like that, and who frequently spend 100s and 1000s on restorations. The tell tale sign is usually the sole/dual newly custom coloured colour paint job (usually not an original/vintage factory colour), thinking they bought something that's vintage and from Italy. One guy I was in a scooter club with (we're both not involved in the Club anymore), bought a 'Vietbodge' as we say in the classic scooter scene, spend $10,000AUD on restos - so he reckons - and wanted to sell it for $7,000AUD. He eventually sold it, but $7,000AUD??!! Pfft! I spend more than that - and I shouldn't - :-) - on clothes!! :-D

    • Friend of mine bought a Viet resto Lambretta and it was a death trap. Shims made from cut up coca-cola cans? Refined brake drum? Mine will be going back to its original yellow ochre at some point-beginning to feel a bit of a connection with your Super here ❤️

    • Beauty!
