What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

Recieved this yesterday, thought I'd give it a review:

The first batch has sold out, but there are more on the way. Priced at £22 including postage (in the UK) is a new DVD release from Direct Records/Direct Tapes: The Direct Hits Live at the 100 Club 1984. It's a brilliant package, with their full 11 track set and a 12 page colour booklet (including the front and back covers) featuring captioned photographs of the band, a foreword by Paul Macnamara, an account of the gig by Diane Kenwill and a double page spread about the release of the DVD, the gig and other interesting pieces of information (such as information about the recording of 1984's 'Blow Up' LP) by Colin Swan.

The gig itself is brilliant to watch, containing absolutely roaring versions of classic Direct Hits tracks (great wailing feedback during "Girl in a Picture" provided by Mr Buckmaster!) along with a couple of covers: "The Munsters Theme" (cracking version!) and "See Emily Play". This concert is the only known Direct Hits gig to have been captured in its' entirety on film and is a must have for Direct Hits fans!

  • 4486515669?profile=RESIZE_930xVery pleased with the latest find...

    • Outstanding Kai

What a find - Price of anything Daks now is eye watering !

    • Quite affordable on etsy... depending upon what you're after.

    • It is in top condition  Scott, though I'd really like to know how old it actually is.

    • Nice fit, there!

However, when I read "DAKS", that has totally different meaning down here in Australia. I had to look up the brand. They're pretty pricey, but worth it!

    • This one was £ 65, Bec! ;-)

    • Worth every penny! ;-)
