What I bought today...

Just thought that I'd start this topic as nobody has [bothered?] to start it yet!

I was in one of my local charity shops today and bought these women's basket-weave, tassel loafers for only $8.50 AUD! Absolutely brill, to say the least! ;-) Now I can wear them with my new trousers from Sportscraft (see link below) and my Ben Sherman boating blazers! They were made by Australian shoe manufacturer Sandler, as part of their "Easy Steps" collection which still exists today. I think these shoes were an absolute find and would make excellent work and leisure (by that I mean dancing) shoes!

I also picked up two of my lay-aways. The first being two pairs of capris trousers - one pair in black and another in navy. Don't let the "capri" style fool you. They actually look like full-length trouser on me. I paid $105 AUD for each pair, instead of $150.

The second lay-away I picked up today was this lovely dress from Target that I purchased on sale a couple of months ago!

Happy shopping my Mod brothers and sisters! Look forward to reading and seeing what you've bought!

  • Pair of suede Loake loafers.

    • Nice Kai... I have a pair very similar, but they are not Loakes, and I can't tell you without looking who made them. Yesterday however I bought these rather slick suede shoes from Crown Vintage (no, I'd never heard of them either) and this Alpha Industries bomber jacket.           The latter is not strictly a Mod item I know, but it has long been a favourite among the scooter riding crowd, and I had one back in the 70's when they were first worn. Though not a particularly stylish item, it is handy for those rainy, blustery days of spring and autumn when a Harrington is not enough and a parka is too much.

    • I do like the jacket !

    • Like the shoes, Graham, though not sure what to wear them with. The jacket I suppose is rather practical for the scooterist, like you say. Had a black one in the late 80's myself; wore it well into the 90s on skiing holidays. Used to be a proper mod staple item when I got into it alright.

    • Quite unusual Graham, a sort of cut off suede Chelsea boot, I like em ;-)

    • Objects of desire!
    • Indeed!
    • Nice Kai !

    • Cheers Andy; tax refund today!
    • That's not a bad start to the weekend Kai !!
