  • Picked this up a couple of days ago. As recommended by a 1963 Modernist! A good-time fun recording.

  • This is what was on my turntable(s) for The Radio Gumbo Show broadcast on 9th July... and it made number 19 in the Mixcloud ska charts apparently! Which is some what of a surprise, cos only 7 of the 41 tracks actually had any reggae leanings... Still, I'll take it and I'm working on my acceptance speech right now... Link and track listings below :)

    • Hi mate

here's a link to SJH's cover of heart attack & vine

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xLBQIWeAjI

I only really liked the Piano's on the Beach track, I think there are probably vinyl versions available but mostly seemed to be available as downloads.

I'll have to check out the Cellar Bar - their website says Dr Feelgood are playing 16th Nov if I'm still here do you fancy a trip down South

      Still job hunting/hurting Cheers Mike

    • Mike

yes I know this track, earlier you said it was Screamin' Kay Hawkins so i thought it was a cover!!

Tom Waites did this track too,ok if you like Old Tom but one track is enough for me from him and that would have to be "Deep in the heart of Saturday night"

yes hoping to go to Dr Feelgood(again!) but we may be on the road,so definitely maybe!

      Good luck with everything

      Ben

    • Hi Ben appologies fat fingers on my tiny (not so) smart phone - still Screaming Kay Hawkins could be one for the scooter rally circuit!. I'm quite partial to Mr Waits, Rain Dogs is one of my favourite albums not very mod, but there you go there's no accounting for taste. Take care Mike
