About Me:

I personally began my love affair with all things 'Mod' as a teenager in the 1980's and the Mod revival. I adore so many facets of the scene: the clothes/fashions/styles, music and scooters and wholly British attitude but also put a modern spin on it too. (After all, isn't mod short for 'modernist?!') I suppose I dance to the beat of my own drum in that respect by taking things forward but always keeping two well polished feet in the past! An early memory is if my sneaking downstairs in the early hours to watch Soul Train on tv: the images of great dancers and equally great music still resonates with me to this day. I adore '70's soul and funk as much as the earlier '60's stuff.

Top 5 tunes at the moment:

1) Baby Huey. 'Hard Times'. 2) Millie Jackson. 'It's All Over But The Shouting'. 3) Ruby Turner. 'This Train'. 4) Bobby Womack. 'Harry Hippie'. 5) PP Arnold and Rod Stewart. 'Come Home Baby'.

Vespa, Lambretta or other?

'Lammy'...and original Mini Cooper/Clubman etc.

  • Yeah its great. Im learning loads haha!

Yeah i absolutely love the fashion and the music. I think the best thing is how free it is .. The people are really cool (all the ones I've met so far). Im looking to get more into it in the sense of the history.

The most important thing to me is music and I think music that people class as 'Mod' is amazing!
