Looking For The Jelly Roll
The Jelly Roll, an uncomplicated and simple styled underground dance club that started life in a comfortable little venue in the heart of the Cathedral City of Peterborough some ten years ago. From such humble beginnings but with a solid foundation, the Jellyroll is starting to garner a reputation of a "damn good night out" and is going from strength to strength. Helped on by the talents of guest DJ's Andrea Mattioni (Dreamsville), Jamie Parr (Pork and Beans), Oxford Paul (Bluecat Reggae Club), Ray Mahoney (Caliente) backed up by the faithful, experienced and knowledgeable local DJ's Paul D, Glen, Terry G and Julz.
Julian Roberts, the head honcho of Jelly Roll and Looking for Ferdy, epitomises cool, calm and collected. Under his hat lies not a bag of blues but a wealth of musical knowledge that plumbs the depths, both sonically and musically when it comes to vinyl, with a passion and faith that is unshakable, some would even go as far as to say obsessed.
For how long the Jelly Roll can remain underground remains to be seen, as Julian and the Jelly Roll crew keep on serving up 50/60’s R&B, Soul and Ska evenings of pure delight, soaked in sweet joy and soaring sounds that take you to the floor again and again for more.
For now though the Jelly Roll will continue to produce cool sounding, hard, hot, vinyl beats and bass aimed at the head, the heart and the feet for those likeminded souls who are looking good and oh, so neat…
You are guaranteed to leave with your ears singing, your heart soaring and feet tapping to the memories of the Jelly Roll grooves, laid down for you by the Jelly Roll crew.
